Breaking Ground Prayer Update
November 14, 2007

Thank the Lord for the following provisions:

  • Cleanstreet has a new contract; this enabled us to hire 3 new people.
  • Manufacturing 101 course was approved for a $70,000 grant.
  • The team and I returned all in good health from Africa. We made many friends and have many partnership opportunities

Please pray for the following items:

APL Teaching Factory
We are asking The Lord to help us reach the following goals for 2007:

  • 120 Graduates from the Teaching Factory
  • 80% of graduates would show two grade levels increase in academics
  • 100 graduates placed in jobs
  • 15 growing disciples working with us

Please pray for the Lord to lead and guide as we select an online curriculum for the class. This will enable us to better serve students at many different grade levels and teach computers skills.

Affordable Housing
The City of Chicago owes us 24 additional lots. There is still no resolution on this. Without additional lots we will be out of land to build on by May of next year. The Building of homes is our primary source of income to fund the ministry activity. Please pray that the Lord would provide more opportunities to build homes in North Lawndale and other neighborhoods.

Cleanstreet
Continue to ask the Lord for favor as Bryan Friday visits potential customers and solicit new contracts.

Please pray that the Lord will put it on the heart of some of the men to lead each of the street cleaning crews spiritually. Our goal is to have a spiritual leader leading each crew. This will enable more discipleship to take place throughout the day.

Minority Contractors Co-op
Joe Pruitt has helped to get a painter licensed and insured and he is painting for us. This proposal has not been funded. It is close and should be funded in Dec. Pray that we would be wise as we set up the operations of the Co-op and that the Lord would give us several potential contractors to develop.

Discipleship House
The first two men have graduated from the house. One is now married and another has his own apartment and has moved his mother in with him.

Please pray that the men in house would desire to live in biblical community; and that the Lord would provide more men for the program. The standards are high and this keeps many from making the commitment for the training.

Manufacturing Training Center
Please pray for wisdom as Val and the Tooling and Manufacturing Association creates a curriculum to meet the needs of the manufacturers in the area. Also, that the Lord would provide 15 good candidates for the first course.

Africa Trip
We are back and in good health. We have a few opportunities to partner in the future. Pray that we would be wise and partner in a way that empowers the tremendous leaders we met without creating dependency

Thanks for praying,
Jeff Dennis
