Breaking Ground Prayer Updates
December 2007

Thank the Lord for the following provisions:

• The Breaking Ground (BG) staff team has a positive attitude and working well together.
• 62 Students have been placed in jobs this year.
• Home construction is going well and BG should end the year in the black.

Please pray for the following items:

APL Teaching Factory
We are asking The Lord to help us reach the following goals for 2007:

• 120 Graduates from the Teaching Factory
• 80% of graduates would show two grade levels increase in academics
• 100 graduates placed in jobs
• 15 growing disciples working with us

Please pray for the Lord to lead and guide as we select an online curriculum for the class. This will enable us to better serve students at many different grade levels and teach computers skills.

Affordable Housing
The City of Chicago owes us 24 additional lots. There is still no resolution on this. Without additional lots we will be out of land to build on by May of next year. The Building of homes is our primary source of income to fund the ministry activity. Please pray that the Lord would provide more opportunities to build homes in North Lawndale and other neighborhoods.

Pray for the Lords favor as we talk to Alderman Fredrenna Lyle in the Englewood area of Chicago. BG is seeking to finish a 29 home development of which BG was the General Contractor. The Non-profit that was awarded the project is no longer in business. The Department of Housing, City of Chicago would like BG to take over the project, however BG would need the Alderman to agree.

Cleanstreet
Several customers (commercial areas of Chicago) have requested that Cleanstreet provide snow removal services. Cleanstreet staff and I do not know how to price snow removal and are having difficulty finding out. Please pray that the Lord would provide a mentor with experience professional snow removal.

Continue to pray for additional contracts. The business has covered its expenses for the year, however the goal was to create jobs and pay for a 2nd APL Teaching Factory class. Two more large contracts would do that for us. Cleanstreet currently has 6 contracts. The South Shore area will be deciding this week, ask the Lord that they would choose Cleanstreet.

Minority Contractors Co-op
This is still unfunded, however it looks very likely in the near future. Pray that the Lord would provide 4-5 clients for whom Joe can begin to help.

Discipleship House
Please pray that the men in house would desire to live in biblical community; and that the Lord would provide more men for the program. The standards are high and this keeps many from making the commitment for the training.

Manufacturing Training Center
Please pray for wisdom as Val and the Tooling and Manufacturing Association creates a curriculum to meet the needs of the manufacturers in the area. Also, that the Lord would provide 15 good candidates for the first course.
