All contributions to Breaking Ground are tax-deductible.

• Personal checks: Checks may be mailed to Breaking Ground, 3501 W. Fillmore Street, Chicago, IL 60624. Please make checks payable to Breaking Ground, and designate contribution as a "monthly gift" or "one-time gift" in the memo line.
  
  
• Matching gifts: Does your company have a matching gift program? Some companies will match their employee's charitable donations. To discover if such a program exists at your company, contact your Human Resources Department.

Our Board of Directors engages in active oversight of the financial affairs of the organization and establishes policies to ensure that our resources are used appropriately to support and further our mission, as well as donor intent. We strive to adhere to the ten best practice principles outlined by the Donor's Forum of Chicago in the recently published Illinois Nonprofit Principles and Best Practices.
